windmill tournament info 2023

Windmill 2023 will take place from Thursday 15 June, 4pm until Sunday 18 June, 5pm. First games start on Friday 16th at 9am.

There will be 80 teams at Windmill 2023 split into 3 divisions: mixed (40), women and open (20/20 if possible). Registration will open on January 7th at 9pm Herbie time (CET). You can sign up your team on the windmill homepage, this is also the place where you can register yourself as a volunteer or guest.


Registration will close on February 4th. Once registration is closed we will announce the teams that got into Windmill as soon as possible. To confirm your spot make sure to pay the deposit in time!

Ticket price

Playing ticket = €130
festival ticket = €100

Starting this year we will be working with tickets to Windmill. Windmill is about so much more than playing ultimate and Herbie wants to honour the festival side of Windmill. With a playing ticket you will be able to both play and party with Herbie. The festival ticket gives you access to everything but playing at Windmill. Both tickets include accommodation and food!

Registration and payments

A non-refundable deposit of 2 player tickets (€260) per team is required to confirm your spot at Windmill. This should be paid to the Windmill bank account before the 18th of March to confirm your place at Windmill.

The rest of the player tickets should be paid before June 11th 2023. Payments after the 20th will incur a 10% late fee and have to be paid at the tournament. Your team roster should be finalised by the 1st of June. Thereafter you can only swap players, additional players cannot be added.

Festival tickets have to be paid by June 11th 2023. Paying multiple festival tickets at once is possible, but please contact our hosts (registration@windmilltournament.com) before doing so.

Festival tickets after June 11th will also incur a 10% late fee. This can also be paid at Windmill during the event. The late fee will still apply.

NOTE: Please contact the hosts at registration@windmilltournament.com for any questions or problems you are having. If you know you are going to pay late please contact the hosts as early as possible to ensure your spot in 2024.

The playing ticket covers a camping spot for three nights, three breakfasts, two dinners, three days of Ultimate, four days of festivities including multiple parties and plenty of entertainment. If your team is bringing coaches, fysio's, injured players or other staff they only have to pay for the festival ticket.

Guests should pay the festival ticket no later than June 11th or otherwise also incur a 10% late fee.

Accommodation

Your camping spot is included in your player/festival ticket. We are are camping at the sport camping Amsterdam. The camping is located within walking distance (2 min) from the fields just across the street! Address of the camping is Tom Schreursweg 14, 1067 MC Amsterdam.

It is also possible to buy/rent camping gear at the campsite. No need (or possibility) to reserve this beforehand.

Prices to rent gear:

  • 2 person tent 7,50 euros per night
  • 3 person tent: 10 euros per night
  • 4 person tent: 12,50 euros per night
  • air matress: 5 euros per night
  • sleeping bag: 5 euros per night

Prices to buy gear:

  • 2 person tent: 25 euros
  • 3 person tent: 30 euros
  • 4 person tent: 35 euros
  • air matress: 15 euros
  • sleeping bag: 15 euros

If you prefer, you may also book a nearby hotel or hostel at your own expense, but more importantly, you might miss out on the fun activities that will take place between 4pm and 3am. For the full experience, camp with us!

Food

As is the case every year, we will be doing our absolute best to provide you with a choice of delicious and nutritious food, catering to all dietary requirements. We will provide a fully vegetarian Windmill but with enough protein and carbs for every Frisbee player. This is where our budget is primarily spent, and so you are guaranteed a fulfilling meal. Meals will be provided starting at breakfast on Friday!

Guests

You can join the Windmill experience, even if you don't have a team! You're welcome to join the fun and enjoy the festival as our guest. If you just wish to visit to watch a few games and drink a beer, you then feel free to go do that. Just go to the front desk to check-in. You can register as a guest until June 1st!

If you wish to also camp with us and have dinner with us, you'll have to sign up as a festival visitor. The festival ticket is €100 and should be paid before June 11th, more information under "registration and payments".

For this price, you will receive all the benefits of a player, minus the ultimate. Camping is included as well as dinner on Friday and Saturday. For more information about being a guest Windmill, feel free to email us!
