Alicanto

We are a team from Chile, with players from different teams, making an effort to participate in an international tournament. The Ultimate community in Chile is still fairly small and young compared to the rest of the world, but we want to make it grow and flourish. This group is making the effort to have a Chilean team for the first time at Windmill. The Chilean community and this team is a mix of nationalities, and we are grateful for that. People from Venezuela, Colombia and the US brought ultimate to Chile when, for different reasons, they decided to live in Chile. Slowly, starting somewhere in the early part of the 2010 decade, they began to share this amazing sport with us. Thanks to that, more and more people are playing each year, and we hope it continues to grow. This is a new team created for this event, but hopefully we can continue to keep it for future events. The name is a Chilean, mythological, nocturnal bird that is a part of our legends and folklore. Obviously we are a team that speaks Spanish, but we have multiple players that are bilingual, and Chile is a big tourist place for the world to visit, so we are used to interacting with people from all over the world, so it shouldn’t be an issue to be able to communicate with teams from all over the globe.
