We are MAMOOTS!
We were born out of a group of college friends back in 1998. 22 years have passed since that day and “the herd” grew bigger, now we’re more than 30 people who play competitively at the best level.
Ever since our founding we’ve ranked among the Top10 in our country. Back in 2012 we competed at the Chesapeake Invite and after our return to Colombia we placed second at Nationals, our best placement so far. This year we’re looking forward not only to repeating that fee but to outdo ourselves and take the first place trophy home.
Lately our efforts have focused on attracting, developing and integrating young talent into our ranks, and those talents are ready and eager to test themselves against European competition. In 2018 for the first time ever, we had U24 Nationals in Colombia, that year MAMOOTS introduced our U24 team to the world and they took it by surprise. That roster of young players plus a couple of experienced ones who remain since our founding are today MAMOOTS’ competitive team.
Our team has always been known for having a great spirit of the game and we’ve been champions of this aspect a couple of times. Our players have represented Colombia on many different occasions and categories, even becoming SOTG world champions at WMUCC 2018 in Canada. We know that what makes ultimate great is not only the level of the competing teams but also their spirit of the game and we make sure to study and grow in both aspects everyday.
We know Ultimate is more than running and throwing so we’re bringing our big guns to participate in every single competition we can: frisbee, singing, dancing, drinking and whatever Windmill has to throw at us. Our friends from RAZA Ultimate Club competed at Windmill in 2019, they told/warned us about its party spirit and we’re ready to try it out ourselves.
